Principal’s Note: From the Office of Susan L. Osterhoudt
February 24th marked the end of our 2017 PARP (Parents as Reading Partners) Program with the theme, “Be Happy Campers and Read.” Congratulations to those participating students for their personal efforts and Kudos to those students who have successfully met all criteria for award recognition. Our PARP Committee Members, Lauren French and Tricia Watson, are commended for organizing and creatively promoting reading. Thank you for all your hard work!
Speaking of promoting reading, I’m happy to announce that in our Accelerated Reader Program our students have read 2,683 books so far this year and have earned over 5,800 points. Our top 3 reading classes are Ms. Gunn’s 6th grade class with 1,022 points, Mrs. O’Donnell’s 3rd grade with 943 points, and Mrs. Maglio- Kohler’s 5th grade class with 898 points. Way to go everyone! Great Job! Let’s continue to Read, Read, Read!

Please join me in welcoming Ms. Alexandria Meier to our Riccardi Family as our new building secretary. I would also like to wish Mrs. Lambert all the best at the Jr. High School.
I would also like to thank everyone for all your support in helping our friend Liam and his family at this very difficult time. He and hisfamily are so appreciative of all of our support. As the principal of this wonderful school, I couldn’t be more proud of our caringcompassionate Riccardi Family! Speaking of caring and compassionate, I would like extend a special thank you to three remarkable students, James McTague, Dylan Walsh, and Ezra Cafaldo, for coming to me to initiate this movement in helping our friend Liam. Their own selflessness and compassion towards others is an example to follow. They truly represent our message of kindness as stated in our daily Riccardi Kindness Pledge.
Have a wonderful March!
