Dear Cahill Elementary Families:

I hope that everyone enjoyed a peaceful Thanksgiving Holiday with family and friends.  We have three full weeks of school until our next break.  I am hoping to see good attendance during this time.  School will not be in session from Monday, December 26th -Monday, January 2nd   Students return to school on Tuesday, January 3.  I respectfully request that you encourage your child to read a book over the vacation.  Our children benefit from reading and should be encouraged to do so beyond the school day.

The upcoming month, although short, is filled with many activities.  On Thursday, December 1st, we invite everyone to our Winter Concert at 7 PM.  Our students in grades 4-6 will participate in our building Spelling Bee on Friday, December 2nd.  Thursday, December 8th will be our third “Supper Support” this year.  Supper will be donated from Black-Eyed Suzie’s Upstate.  We are very thankful for our local restaurants who donate to our monthly supper support.  There will be no supper support in January, it will resume in February.

Students will enjoy PTA sponsored Holiday Shopping on Wednesday and Thursday, December 7th and 8th.  PTA is also holding a Holiday Social for Grade 6.  Parents of 6th grade students will receive information regarding this event next week.  Lastly, Cahill will hold our December Spirit Assembly on Friday, December 23rd.  Our character trait for December is “Kindness”.

Please be reminded to write your child’s name inside of their coats, hats, mittens, and other outerwear.  Already, our lost and found covers a table in our front lobby.  Please look through the lost and found prior to December 23rd to retrieve any belongings.  You are invited in at any time that is convenient for you.  All items will be donated to charity after that date.

If you have any issues, problems, or concerns, please call me or come in.  Wishing you all the best this holiday season.
